Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes in Thamesford
Our adult program offers Gi, No-Gi, Fundamentals, All Levels, and Women’s Only classes, with training options for ages 13+. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, get in shape, compete, or simply learn Jiu-Jitsu, there’s a place for you on the mats.
Five class types, six days a week
Every class at Iron Wolf Academy is built around one idea: you should leave knowing something you did not know when you walked in. First day or fifth year, the shape is the same, warm up, learn a position, drill it, then use it live at whatever intensity you are ready for.
Fundamentals Program
Our Fundamentals program is designed to build a strong foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Students learn essential techniques, positions, movements, and concepts while developing confidence, fitness, and problem-solving skills.
Classes follow a structured curriculum that builds on previous skills while continuing to introduce new techniques and situations. As students progress, they’ll have opportunities to apply what they’ve learned through positional drills and live training.
No experience necessary, just come ready to learn, train, and grow.
Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Gi Jiu-Jitsu offers a unique approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, using the gi to develop stronger grips, precise control, and detailed technique. The added friction and grip fighting challenge students to slow down, think strategically, and create opportunities through technique rather than speed or strength.
Training includes gi-specific grips, takedowns, sweeps, submissions, escapes, and transitions, followed by live sparring to put those skills into practice.
Build your technique. Sharpen your control. Master the details
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is a dynamic style of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practiced without the traditional gi. Without clothing to grip, students learn to rely on body positioning, movement, timing, and control.
Training focuses on takedowns, guard passing, guard retention, sweeps, positional control, escapes, transitions, and submissions, with an emphasis on adapting to a faster pace and constantly changing positions.
Classes combine technical instruction, focused drilling, and live sparring to develop practical skills, confidence, and the ability to apply technique against a resisting partner.
Women’s Only
Our Women’s Only Jiu-Jitsu class provides a welcoming, supportive environment for women to learn and train together. Led by a female instructor, the class focuses on building practical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, confidence, fitness, and self-defence.
Classes cover essential positions, escapes, guards, takedowns, submissions, and situational training, with plenty of opportunities to practice and apply techniques with training partners.
Whether you’re completely new to Jiu-Jitsu or have previous experience, this class offers a comfortable space to learn, build confidence, and grow on the mats.
